Checking uploaded filenames? 8 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Someone using the filemanager can upload a file with spaces in it. The first problem I've seen is with trying to rename the file with the file manager. I don't know if there are any further implications. ML 2.3

Actually come to think of it I think there was an apostrophe in the filename in question. nevermind it was escaped, but the spaces on a linux platform are of course causing issues.

Are you asking if specific characters in the file name can be replaced with underscore?

Client uploaded an mp3 file with the alternate upload method. The file had spaces and 1 apostrophe in the name. They had tried to rename the file and couldn't. I tried as well and couldn't either. I also couldn't delete the file with the filemanager. I did it manually through ftp.

I was just able to reproduce the situation. There is no issue with the spaces however when the escaped apostrophe is in the filename the filemanager cannot edit the filename nor delete it. I had a space and an apostrophe in the filename.

My previous posts were assuming that the space characters were the culprit since I could see the apostrophe was being escaped.

I will look into converting problematic characters for the next release.
