News2 Smooth Scroller 2 from Demo 3 Months ago
Hi Sunny,
I'm trying to implement the Smooth Scroller2 news funcitonality in the demo. I've placed the 2 Modules on the stage, named them appropriately, and placed the actionscript ("listMod" stuff). However when I bring up the site, the blocks do not display at all.

Is there a piece of code tat I need to have in order for those to work? I dissected the demo, but I can't find anything. The standard News snippet IS working, as are all the other blocks.

Also, do I need to have the import.Flashblocks line?

The smooth scroller2 module can attach any movie clip with a linkage ID. Make sure that movie clip not only has a linkage ID but also is exported for first frame or has been embedded else where on stage as is common flash practice.

On the same frame as the list module 2, you can hard code the reference to your movie clip's linkage ID with the following code:
Code: :

 myListModInstance.linkContent "moveclipsLinageID"

See the demoSite for examples of this.

Hi Sunny, thank for the response, I actually figured it out - stupid mistake actually (aren't they always). I brought the module files (copy and paste) into my document's library, but I had it underneath a folder. Well the Editblock component came in with the paste. But it conflicted with the EditBlock component in the Library root. So I kept deleting the component in the folder (not realizing that it came in with the module).

So, Flashblocks wouldn't recognize the EditBlock because I deleted the library item thus removing it from the Module. Dumb mistake.

Anyway, I gotta tell you how impressed I am with ML. As you know, I've been a user for over 2 years (I did the wolffer.com site in FB1 - as well as http://kieranmurphymusic.com) - I moved to fCMSPro since ML wasn't ready for a site I did about a year ago. But I'm back with FB. I gotta say, FB is a much better system, much easier to use and implement. The possibilities are endless with the template engine.

Great, uncomplicated production. Thanks again Sunny for a perfectly solid product.

Chuck
