Hi, (me not moaning for a change...ahem!)

I use typo3 for most of my sites - typo3.org.
They have lots of extensions for functionality, which you can install and integrate into the typo3 system, same as mambo and joomla i suppose.

It would be good to have a similar feature in Flashblocks, where an extension could be downloaded and installed into flashblocks.

Typo3 's extensions are mostly written by volunteers. What about if Flashblocks did the same where you had an area on the site where users could upload modules or extensions, the extensions list would be updated in Flashblocks, the extension could then be installed and edited in the flashblocks interface.
Flashblocks would need a standard way for the extensions to be packaged (maybe just as a .swf) then be installed into the rest of Flashblocks where the extension could be edited under the flashblocks interface.
Just an idea................

Any release date for ver. 2.0?

regards,

Dave

2.0 works very much like that. You upload an XML file and some additional file(s) into the editors directory and you are good to go. Additionally you may need to upload a language XML file as well and perhaps serverside scripts.

It would be a good idea to have an installer file as well in such a package to auto copy the needed files into the correct directories.

Hi,
if you want to have a play with a typo3 installation to see how the extension stuff works, then let me know and i'll email you the username and password.
If it helps getting a better fla and flashblocks product, then its worth it.

Dave
