I have a problem when putting in a lot of text into the SmoothScroller.
At a certain point text just disappears...

Is there a limit to how much text can be displayed???

This has never been reported nor have I come across this as an issue.

I have recommended upgrading Flashblocks on your previous post. Let me know if you are still experiencing this issue once you have upgraded this module as well.

I updated everything.

But I still have the trouble with the disappearing text.
I see all of it in the text editor but not in the smoothscroller module.

When you scroll down a big gap appears in the middle. Somehow the text is registered but not shown ???!!!

Another wierd thing is that it when switching between the different articles the smoothscroller module turns full white.
I have the same page buid up on some of the other pages but it only happens here. The only diiference is that on the articles-page the buttons are created thru flashblocks while on all other pages I created them in Flash itself.

Any help ???!!!

I just tried building up the page again from scratch, and inserting a lot of Lorem bla bla bla into it - same story.
At a certain point it cannot handle all the text and gaps appear in the smooth scroller.

Please check it.

It is important that I'm able to have a lot of text displayed....

Yeah, the same happens when I paste the text into the news section of the demo.

I have another one as well.

I have a movieclip inside a movieclip in the main.swf
It has a list module (works fine) a dynamic textfield (works fine) and a smooth scroller2 field. The ss2 shows up after login, I enter the text in the text editor and insert.... nothing shows up ????

I think that formatting such as tabs are being pasted into the text area and causing the issue. When pasting in text, first press the HTML button to see the source code and then past your copy into the source window. This will essentially strip any invisible characters that may be causing trouble.

I open the text editor - click the HTML button - paste in the text - enter - it's in the text editor - insert - now the ss2 box is COMPLETELY blank. I can scroll up and down but there is nothing there.

Have you upgraded? It should revert to your first font in the list.

Yeah I have upgraded, but I'm not too sure what you mean by "reverting the first font in the list".
I had to redo the embedded fonts in the HTMLeditor.

I also tried pasting it into your demosite - as you describe - but it also does the same !! Some text - a lot of space - and again some text....

You are absolutely right. There is an issue when tons of text is inserted.

It turns out that this is a Flash player bug.

Solution:
Change antiAliasType = “advanced” to antiAliasType = “normal”.

Open the movie clip "scrollText" (found in "smoothScroller") and change the text field's Anti-alias to Anti-alias for Animation.

You can also use the Flash component "TextArea". Just drop and Editblock on it.
