using smoothscroller for input text in form 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Can I use a smoothhscoller in a form, so that the visitor can add text (Input Text) and send it to an emailaddress via a send buttton? So using the appearance and scroll functionallity of the SmoothScroller, but not using it to add text via CMS.

The smooth scroller2 gives you the option to enter an external asset or attach a movie clip from the library. So yes, you could use the smooth scroller2 this way. But of course, you would be responsible for creating the movie clip that contains the form and then sends it to an email address.

Also, you may customize the email module however you wish.

The smooth scroller 2 gives you the option to enter an external asset or attach a movie clip from the library. How do I do this?

Just drop an Editblock onto the smooth scroller2 module. Then when editing, you will have the option to select "Linkage ID". Then just enter the linkage ID of the movie clip you wish to attach.

I have copied the Module Smooth Scroller2 file from the F8 flashblocks_demosite 2.5.fla into my own library.

Then:

1. I've dropped the SmoothScroller2 component from the library onto the stage. 2 I have given the SmoothScroller2 an InstanceName. 3. I've made a Movieclip of a textfield, with the setting for the textfield on Input Text.
4. I,ve given the movieclip an InstanceName. 5. Using Linkage Properties in the Library I've given the textfield MovieClip an Identifier name. 6. I've publised and uploaded. 7. I open the website in a browserwindow and choose to edit Smoothscoller2. 8. I choose the option Linkage iD and fill in my Identifier name. 9. I finish editing.

Problem: I can not fill anything in and see no input textfield for my text.
All I see is a flashing square of the SmoothScroller2

What am I forgetting or doing wrong?

It sounds like you are missing the needed classes. These are found in the "fla source" directory. Many of the modules, contained in the demo site, require these files to work properly. These classes must be accessible to your fla. So if you save your source files elsewhere you will need to place these required files and directories into the same directory as your flash document. Alternately, regarding these classes, you may place them in your class path. Also, if you wish, you may install the exceptional XMCA 0.3 component set from the authors website http://chq.emehmedovic.com and mc_tween2.as from http://hosted.zeh.com.br/mctween/downloads/mc_tween_2_28_29.mxp .

If you do not wish to ever change the movie clip that is attached to the smooth scroller then you can opt to hard code your movie clip into the scroller. Just use the mentioned components, http://chq.emehmedovic.com , without managing with Flashblocks.

thank you.

Now I can add and see my textfield (for input text) appear in the Smoothscroller2. Still one problem remains:

when I add text to the textfield that does not fit in the SmoothScroller2, the scrollbar does not appear.

Say my .fla is named test.fla. This test.fla is saved in directory FBtest.
Do I then have to add classes(?) to that FBtest directory before publishing.

Where are these classes in the "fla.source" directory?

Is there not a video tutorial how to apply smoothscroller2 ?
And should Smoothscroller2 and the required classes not be part of Flashblocks and ready to use upon installing Flashblocks?

Flashblocks does not require these classes. They are included for some of the modules in the demo site, such as the smooth scroller2. The getting started section of the ReadMe.htm file, that comes with Flashblocks ML, covers this:
http://flashblocks.com/FlashblocksML/ReadMe.php

And the smooth scroller2 module is covered here:
http://flashblocks.com/FlashblocksML/ReadMe.php#modulesSmooth2
