Many questions! 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hello.
I`m new with FB and I have a lot of questions. They are probably stupid, but I have to ask...

Do I have to upload the page to a server to test the login and editing menu? It doesn`t work when I export my flashmovie

I shall make a gallery, and I have done what it stands in Flashblocks ML Flash CMS ReadMe:
Designing
Just drop the "Gallery thumbnails" movie clip onto the stage and give it a unique instance name. Resize it to the dimensions you wish for the scrolling thumbnails.
Then drop the "Gallery full size image" movie clip onto the stage and give it a unique instance name. Resize it to the dimensions you desire for your full size image. Finally drop an Editblock onto the the "Gallery thumbnails" movie clip.

I dont understand much of this..
In wich directory do I lay my pictures?

How do I connect the flashsite with the directory where mye pictures are?

Can I see this gallery in my flashplayer or do I have to upload it to a server?

I get this Error when I want to use Script Assist in Gallery full size image mc and Gallery thumbnails mc 'else' encountered without matching 'if'.
What shall I do with this?

Are there any video tutorials about making galleries with FB?

I should probably learned a lot more about codes before I tried this out!

Thank you!

In the flashblocks example file : "flashblocks_demoSite" you will find an example of a gallery and the news items are sort of a gallery as welll. There are quite a lot of pointers written between the flash code so that should help.

In order to check the files on a local machine i would suggest installing something like XAMPP http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html because Flashbloks needs to execute php scripts.

hope this helps

Thanks!
I have read the flash code over and over again, but my english is pretty bad so that may be the reason for my problem understanding this..

But I will try again and hopefully I understand it sooner or later!

No problem,
Basically you create an gallery as described in the Read me file.
To clarify the bit about where it finds the pictures: create with the file manager a directory and give it an descriptive name like "gallery1"
Next refresh the filemanager and upload images into the just created "gallery1" directory (you will need more than one image in order to see anything happening in the gallery if it is to be a slide show).
then you go to the page where your gallery should appear and link the "gallery1" directory to the editblock.

Here are the directions.

If you are still having trouble, I may be able to put together a quick video walk through.

I would create a directory in the flashblocks/data/ dir; something like flashblocks/data/images/gallery1/

And then just select this directory, after logging in, when you are editing the thumbnails module.

See the second video tutorial on the Gallery Module here:
http://flashblocks.com/tutorials/videos.php?dir=FlashblocksML%20Modules/

The first video walks through the List Module being used as a store.

gallery is blinking 2 Months ago
I am having a similar issue, I think I have done everything right when putting in the Gallery1 mod. but when I upload it to my site. It will not allow me to edit anything in the gallery. It just keeps blinking or flashing from white to gray. Any idea what I can do?

Make sure the needed classes are in your class path or in the same directory as your fla. You will find these in the "source fla" directory. just copy the mx and com directories from "source fla" into the directory containing your fla.
