I haven't seen this issue posted on here which seems strange to me considering it's a seemingly pretty big one.
We're trying to make a link list, series of links with only line breaks between them, and the linking is all screwed up. Sometimes it links the worng stuff, unlinks everything, or links nothing at all. The linking in general has been very iradic on mac, PC, firefox and safari.
Am I doing something wrong?

Is the linking problem with the text editor? Does the same problem occur on the flashblocks demo site?

Have you figured it out? Entering a list of links in the text editor works fine for me. Let me know how you are doing.

ok, sorry. had to go out of town and am back on this now. i bought thhis around version 1.1 and it has always been very chaotic. i try to put a link in and it links some other area that wans't selected or not at all. sometimes it links everything. it's pretty crazy. what could i be doing wrong?
i have not made any chenges to the text editor file. everything is at default settings.
please help, i can't deploy this at all until this is working.

Good news Brett.
I have just finished customizing the new flashblocks text editor. It will fix the linking issue. I will release it this week with flashblocks V1.4

If I want to upgrade a site i'm working on, i can just swap the flashblocks folder, and the text editor swf, right?
was i doing somethign wrong or was this aFB issue?

is there a specific time for 1.4? i on;y say this because i have a launch tuesday morning and need to decide whether to use flashblocks or the custom system we've been using.

I can't put my finger on the linking bug. But there seems to be something amiss.
Yes, when upgrading, you will be able to swap out three files and everything will be upgraded.
I will make sure you get, at the least, the new text editor by Monday.

You are going to LOVE this. I have just inserted a function into the new text editor that will auto link all text that begins with "www, http, etc.." A quick fix for now: Create your list of links in an HTML editor, like dreamweaver. Only use simple HTML because Flash has limited HTML capabilities. Copy the HTML.
Now in Flashblocks, edit the block with the links. Instead of selecting "text", to edit the links, click "raw data". You will see the HTML code for the text field. Replace this content with your new HTML. I hope that helps anyone having difficulty with links and the current text editor. |

very cool. that patches me until the update. i'm still a little confused because the demo does not seem to have the problem. hmmm...
i hope the 1.4 fixes link issue because client doesn't know html.
love the new auto link trick, keep it up.

New in Flashblocks Verion 1.4
fonts_lib.swf added to flashblocks. This is a shared library of fonts. Demo3 and texteditor2 both share the fonts from this file.
global find and replace added to "view/edit raw"
renamed many of the files. This will not cause any trouble as long as you use the file reference variables in flashblocks_login.swf.
finishing link list module
new text editor flashblocks_texteditor2.fla with better linking and HTML view. Thanks to: GOVINDA SARKHEL
Added useful functions to the texteditor: Auto link - links all URL text with href. (still buggy. I may work on this.)
Set Text - removes critical HTML formatting.
drop down menu function created in flashblocks.swf. It is being used in the login, and link dialog windows.
menu and menu_list modules created - Menu creation and editing through the editor with these modules
New, much needed demo site.
define fixed size of text editor, text field from login.fla - fb.txtEditW = 400; fb.txtEditH = 300;
selecting Link from the Edit Menu, now gives you the possibility of calling a local function rather then a URL if you like.

i downloaded, trying to upgrade the site i have made with 1.3.
the login works, but when i select text 1, nothing happens.
