Hi

I'm trying to apply image smoothing within the mediablock and found the below piece of code in the ReadMe page:

Mediablock.newMovieClipLoader = function ():Object {
return new com.flashblocks.util.ImageLoader();
}

Could anyone please explain this in a little more detail as I'm unsure how to edit this to make it work for my needs.

Thanks in advance!

Just place that code anywhere on the 1st frame of your fla timeline. And make sure that the com.flashblocks.util.ImageLoader class is in the same directory as your fla (it is in the com) directory).

Thanks for the reply. I've tried the intructions you supplied, also I've tried exporting as Flashplayer10 but still no luck with the image smoothing.

http://www.absoluteabode.com

If you select the first site section 'Absolutely Different' the content will relveal, it's the image next to the text that appears pixelated. The original image is of a good size and quality. Could this be anything to do with the flash movie rescaling to fit the browser? Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

Make sure the com directory is in the same folder as the fla and then publish. If that does not work, would you like to send me a zip of the fla and com directory? [Image Can Not Be Found]

Thanks again for your help but I've not yet had any joy with the image smoothing. I moved the com folder and exported but with no result. I would really appreciate you looking at the fla. What is the best way to get the fla/site directory over to you?

@eSharp,

I've have experienced this in the past as well.

I found the issue to be that I had resized a movieclip that contained a mediablock. I fixed it by going into the movie clip and rezing each element not the whole media clip. Does that make sense.

I hop this helps.

Here is the code that works:[code:1]flashblocks.Mediablock.newMovieClipLoader = function ():Object {
return new com.flashblocks.util.ImageLoader();
}[/code:1]

Dear flashblocks team,

i tried your code for image smoothing, but with no luck. Within my system I only use Mediablocks without media_scale(false), and forceImageResize(false), unfortunatelly I'm dpenedant on this method since, the system handels different resolution versions for different target devices.
I found out, that with media_scale = true the smoothing works.
Do You have any idea for me to have the smoothing feature working with media_scale = false ?

Kind regards & Your system rocks !!

As long as either media_crop or media_scale is set to true then the newMovieClipLoader function will be called which in turn will smooth the image as long as you have the following code in your fla:

Mediablock.newMovieClipLoader = function ():Object {
return new com.flashblocks.util.ImageLoader();
}

"If you would like to smooth the Mediablock images and you are exporting for player 8 or 9, the option for image smoothing is built in. Just enter the following code anywhere. Also, note that you must have the class that is being referenced in your class path. Just make sure that the com folder, found in your "fla source" directory is in the same directory as your fla.
Mediablock.newMovieClipLoader = function ():Object {
return new com.flashblocks.util.ImageLoader();
}
"
